Inventory Accountant

Cepton is seeking an Inventory Accountant with potential for career growth. As a team member of Cepton's Finance Department, the Inventory Accountant will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of inventory accounting, maintaining inventory documentation, assisting inventory analysis and related account reconciliations. He or She will pay great attention to detail and will have ability to deliver results under deadlines as well as working effectively cross-functionally in a rapidly changing environment. This position will report to the Corporate Controller.

Job Responsibilites:

  • Maintain all relative fields in NetSuite that relates to the flow of inventory.

  • Prepare inventory schedules, update inventory standard costs, coordinate cutoffs, and assist with preparation of monthly inventory variance analyses.

  • Ensure that inventory is properly classified.

  • Assist product management in reducing inventory levels while leaving adequately stocked for everyday operations and emergencies.

  • Support production management with the trouble shooting of inventory discrepancies.

  • Assist production management for physical inventory count.

  • Reconcile month-end inventory to physical inventory reports.

  • Analysis of aged inventory for potential obsolescence.

  • Assist office management and production management with return items received from customers.

  • Maintain all inventory procedures and inventory records for financial reports and external audits.

  • Liaise with outside manufacturing vendors on monthly inventory list and inventory reconciliations.

  • Participate in various ad hoc projects.

What we value:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in finance, accounting, or economics is preferred; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must be detail-oriented with knowledge of accounting procedures and an understanding of US GAAP in relation to inventory.

  • A hands-on approach and self-motivated.

  • Good organizational skills and analytical skills.

  • Experience with MS Office inclusive of advanced usage of Excel PivotTable and functions such as VLOOKUP, IF, and SUMIF.

  • Experience in manufacturing environment and Standard Costing a plus

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
