Senior Electrical Technician

CEPTON is seeking a Senior Electrical Technician to work closely with engineering to create and validate prototypes, and support new product introduction to high volume manufacturing process.



Job Responsibilites:


  • Able to understand directions from engineering, and analyze and test electronic hardware using electrical schematics and layout.

  • Assemble and test prototype PCBA and troubleshoot down to component level with soldering station, oscilloscope, variable power supplies, DVM, Waveform & signal Generator, microscope, etc

  • Rework failure devices (including SMT, through-hole, IC chips) on PCBA to recover functionality and performance with soldering station, hot air equipment, microscope, etc

  • Build cabling and wiring as part of system integration

  • Good team player, collaborative with engineering to engage and complete projects in a fast-paced R&D environment

  • Reliable and independent work style, responsible for outputs and working well under pressure.



Qualifications:


  • College level electrical engineering degree or equivalent degree/certificate plus 5+ years of working experience in the field

  • Understanding of circuitry basic theory

  • Strong experience and skillset on PCBA trouble shooting

  • Very solid skillset and high work quality on soldering work and touch-up rework on fine-pitch components

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work from rough engineering sketches and verbal instructions.

  • Hard working, disciplined, able to learn quickly
